Friend of Mobile C.A.R.E. Award Recipient, 2013

Mobile C.A.R.E. Foundation is happy to recognize Dr. Reneè Matthews for her commitment to raising awareness for asthma in Chicago, and especially untreated asthma’s affect in low-income areas.

Born and raised in Michigan, Reneè Matthews graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Physiology. She earned her M.D. in 2005.

As a long time sufferer of asthma, she is also an advocate for asthma related health issues, and speaks passionately about the chronic disease to groups. Most recently, Dr. Renee was featured in Ebony Magazine; her article served to educate parents of asthmatic children. In her spare time (which is rare), Renee also promotes women’s health concerns that target African-Americans. She is a member of the Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League and is a Daisy Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts of America. In addition, she is a member of the Women in Entertainment Empowering Network.

Reneè seeks to encourage, motivate, and equip people in developing greater measures of their God-given character, wisdom, maturity and authority so they can impact their communities and live their best lives now.

The Friend of Mobile C.A.R.E. Award will be formally bestowed at Wrigley Field on May 9th, 2013, during Mobile C.A.R.E.’s Strike Out Asthma.
